A Fresh Look

Every once in a while even stores need some primping. Temptations will be closed June 29 thru July 4 for a summer make-over. Come see our new look starting Saturday, July 5.

Life takes on a different pace in the summer and so do the hours at Temptations! Our June, July and August hours will be:

Monday 11 - 4
Tuesday 10 - 5:30
Wednesday 10 - 8:30
Thursday 10 - 5:30
Friday & Saturday 10 - 4
Sunday, closed

What Do You Want?

With so many exciting knitting techniques and skills to learn, it can be hard to find just the right mix of classes for our knitters. If you are interested in a Tips and Techniques class on Monday, let us know. Some of the topics we can cover are:

• Full-fashion increases and decreases
• Turned hems
• Working yarn overs
• Weaving in ends
• Picking up dropped stitches
• Provisional cast on
• Sewn bind off and 3 needle bind off
• Jogless stripes when knitting in the round

If your interest lies outside our regular class schedule, please ask. Some of our best ideas come from you… tell us what you want!

Dear Knitters

So many events, so little space to talk about them all! Your response to our new classes and events, like Mystery Socks and Stash Night, has been wonderful. We love sharing our time with you and seeing the great projects you knit, so we will continue to add and revise our schedule.

In this issue of Knit TOG I am very excited to share a few more new events at Temptations. We are working on even more classes so please, stop by Temptations or call us to learn about the latest events.

Christmas in July

Get a jump on your holiday knitting with our very cool "Christmas in July" event. Beginning Monday, July 14 we'll have new pattern books, new projects and even new classes that will definitely put you in the mood. Ignore the temperature, come in to Temptations and get in the holiday spirit!

Mystery Mitten

To kickoff "Christmas in July" at Temptations, our mystery sock groups will be creating beautiful mittens. Michelle knitted the sample with Sublime Cashmere Merino Silk Aran weight yarn on #4 and #6 needles (gauge of 4.5-5.5 stitches/inch is desired). Please join us for this fun and free session as the design is revealed one round at a time. There is a little bit of homework, so stop in the shop for your assignment and to reserve your seat.

Monday, July 14, 6 to 8 pm
OR Tuesday, July 15, 6 to 8 PM
OR Wednesday, July 16, 12 to 2 PM

Orphan Sock Night

Are you a sock knitter suffering from completion issues? Join us as we gather to knit mates for our "Orphan Socks." Bring any/all completed socks to this session to be used as your ticket(s) for our raffle prize drawings. There is no limit to the number of hand knitted entries. Michelle will demonstrate "closing the hole in the sock gusset" and help will be available for any completion issues. This session is free, but please call to let us know that you will be attending.

One session: Tuesday, August 5, 6 to 8 PM

Stash Night

Bring us those skeins of yarn you can't give up but can't seem to use, and we'll turn them into a masterpiece! Well, maybe not a masterpiece, but the Temptations staff will definitely find great ways to use your stash. Make plans to bring your yarns, needles and creative juices to this free session.

One session: Tuesday, July 22, 5:30 to 8 PM

Pigskin Fever

Love it or hate it, football season starts in August. Temptations will be kicking off the season with a month long football theme that will keep our knitters busy. Show your team spirit by knitting hats, scarves, mittens, headbands, felted bags, stadium blankets and outerwear in your favorite high school or college team colors. Our great project ideas, patterns and yarns will inspire you to knit something special for all your die-hard fans.
