Why Yoga at Temptations?

If you're like us, knitting helps take away your tension. So it's natural that another wonderful relaxation technique, yoga, is available here at Temptations.

Ancient Yogis believed that to be in harmony with yourself and your environment you must integrate body, mind and spirit. For these to be integrated, you must balance emotion, action and intelligence. Through exercise, breathing and meditation—the three main structures of Yoga—you can realize inner harmony.

We offer classes on several types of Yoga.

Hatha Yoga— Sometimes referred to as Yoga of Postures. This is perfect for beginners & returning students. It emphasizes breathing, posture, balance and relaxation. All levels welcome.

VINYASA— Translated as "coordination of breath and movement". This is a flowing practice that helps develop strength, flexibility and endurance, but also develops a deep awareness of how breath and movement linked create deeper levels of opening, relaxation and presence. Be prepared to sweat and move. Great for athletes and dancers! All levels welcome.

RELAXATION/RESTORATIVE— This is a gentle practice that restores the nervous system via support & time in poses to allow for deep rest and opening. Perfect for all levels & recovery from illness or injury.

YIN YOGA— This is a calm, slow practice where poses are held longer. We focus on the hips, pelvis and spine to improve posture and skeletal strength while the long holds unwind tension to access more energy & space in the body/mind. All levels welcome.

PRIVATE SESSIONS— Please contact us for private sessions on-site or off-site. Privates are a great way to enhance your personal practice & address specific needs/interests. Great for you alone or a small group of family, employees or friends. Let us help you celebrate a birthday, shower, or YOU!

SPECIALTY WORKSHOPS— Our instructors have specialty training & experience in Iyengar, Ashtanga, Restorative, Prenatal, Vinyasa, Pranayama, Meditation, Yoga for Kids, Yoga for Depression & much more. See our schedule for upcoming workshops or contact us with your requests.
